The Lowdown: Last non-conference affair
This is the last non-conference game for both the tenth ranked Ephs of Williams and the ECAC-Northeast leading Wentworth Leopards. Williams hasn't played any ECAC-NE opponents this season but the Leopards are no stranger to the NESCAC, having played three 'CAC opponents already this season. Wentworth lost to Wesleyan, 3-1,in December and vanquished Middlebury,3-2, in the Middlebury Classic on New Year's Eve. The Leopards were then blanked 2-0 by Tufts in Matthews Arena on January 15th. Both teams enter the game on three game win streaks, all in conference games.
Key(s) to the game: No home-cookin'
Wentworth is a surprising 1-5-0 at home for a team with a winning record, though they play their games at Northeastern's rink, so it really isn't "home." Lexical debates aside, Williams can try and capitalize on this and utilize the Ephs new found offensive arensal (19 goals in the last three games) to close out non-conference play with a win in front of 5,900 fans (well..5,900 seats at least).
Players to watch
John Wickman (F, Sr.) After a USCHO feature mentioned that Wickman had played well this year but hadn't scored in his first nine games, the senior Eph has six goals in seven games.
Kevin Crowe (F, So.) The Leopards leading goal scorer (9-5-14) is coming off a hat trick (3-1-4) in an overtime win against Salve Regina.
Williams still isn't travelling by sea, and they still aren't heading north, but this is the last time a NESCAC team will play in Boston this season, so we present you with a reprise of Dropkick Murphy's version of "Shippin up to Boston."
