It was over when...: The Bantams went up 3-0 early in the second and never looked back. Jordan Nathan (G, So.) made 37 saves and takes the loss for the Mules to go (0-8-3); Benjamin Coulthard (G, Jr.) made 32 saves in a winning effort that puts him at (9-5-3). (video of Coulthard save)
1st Period: Jackson Brewer (F, So.) scored at 7:45 minutes in to put the Bantams up 1-0. Shots on goal even at 12 for the period.
2nd Period: Michael DiCenso (D, Sr.) scored on what the Trinity announcer called a "seeing eye wrister that found its way" and John Hawkrigg (F, Fr.) scored a power play goal to make it 3-0. The Mules Cory McGrath (F, Sr.) scored within 15 seconds of the Hawrigg power play goal to make it 3-1. Will Gray (F, Jr.) scored a short handed goal for Trinity to make it 4-1.
3rd period: Brewer scored his second goal of the afternoon just 42 seconds into the third to make it 5-1. Jack Bartlett (F, Jr.) scored about nine minutes later to make it 5-2. Later, Brewer got the hat-trick to make it 6-2 and Hawkrigg added his second goal of the afternoon for good measure to finish off the scoring at 7-2.
As was mentioned in the preview, Trinity wore camoflage jerseys as part of the Hockey Helpers program to benefit The Wounded Warrior Project. To donate to Trinity's fundraiser, click here. Since Middlebury won, Trinity remains in fourth place in the NESCAC. But with the Trinity/Bowdoin game still to be made-up, Trinity is only one point behind with one less game played than the Panthers or Ephs. After the makeup with Bowdoin (TBD), the Bantams close the season with a home and home against Wesleyan. Colby is two points out of the final playoff spot with a makeup at Wesleyan (TBD) and two home games against Conn College/Tufts still to be played.

Conn. College Camels (7-11-3; 3-9-3) 2

Tom Conlin (G, Fr.) made 20 saves in a losing effort while Nathan Corey (G, Sr.) made 22 saves and takes the win.
1st period: Conn College wore their "Green Dot" jersyes (learn about Conn College's Green Dot program) in the afternoon matinee. Amherst led off the scoring with a power play goal from Jamie Hawrigg (D, Sr.) about 12 minutes in. If the Hawrigg name sounds familiar, that's because Jamie's cousin John scored in the Trinity game.
2nd Period: Brian Safstrom (F, Jr.) pumped in a rebound just 1:27 into the period to put the Lord Jeffs up 2-0. Johnny Van Siclen(F, Sr.) scored about five minutes later to make it 3-0. With six minutes remaining in the period, Sean Murray (F, Sr.) tipped in a slap shot blast from Mike Doyle (D, So.) to put the Camels on the board. Mike Rowbotham (F, So.) went top shelf, where "Mamma keeps the cookies" according to the Camel announcer, to put the Lord Jeffs up 4-1 just a few minutes later.
3rd period: Tim Dipretoro (F, Fr.) skated in for a backdoor goal on nice passes from player to watch JC Cangelosi (F, So.) and Keith Veronessi (F, Jr.) to make it 4-2 with about five to play. Camel announcers sasid it was the "nicest goal of the year" for Conn. College.
Amherst went 1/3 on the power play and Conn College went 0/1. Conor Brown (F, Fr)'s point streak is snapped at nine games. With Trinity and Middlebury wins, Amherst remains in fifth, two points behind Middlebury/Williams and one point behind Trinity. Amherst has played the same number of games as Trinity, but one less than the duo in second. They play at Tufts tomorrow and then close out the season with home games against said second place duo. For Conn., they remain in seventh one point ahead of Hamilton, who they play at home tomorrow. They then finish the season on the road at Colby/Bowdoin.

1st period: Senior It was Senior Day for the Panthers, who now own a 76-37-9 all time series lead against Williams. Ephs leading scorer Peter Mistretta (F, So.) was back after missing yesterdays game. Matt Silcoff (F, So.) put in a rebound off of a Matthieu Castonguay (D, Sr.) shot for his 9th of the year to put the Pabnthers up 1-0 with 9:22 to go in the first.
2nd Period: Riley Dickie (F, Fr.) put the Panthers up 2-0 1:04 into the second period on assists from Belisle and Wiggins. Cody Skinner (F, Sr.) scored on a 3-2 break to bring the Ephs within 2-1 at 9:30 into the second; fourth goal of the year for Skinner. Ephs ended the period on a power play.
3rd Period: Ben Wiggins (D, Jr.) kissed it off the far post to put the Panthers up 3-1 shortly after the end of the Ephs power play; assists from Mcgovern and Dickie. Dougherty was pulled with about two minutes to go. Nick Anderson (F, Jr) had a good scoring opportunity, but Peters made a great right pad save.
3 stars of the game from the Media Box at Kenyon Arena : third star Ben Wiggins (D, Jr.) (1-1-2) gave the Panthers an isusrance goal; second star Riley Dickie (F, Fr.) (1-1-2) got what turned out to be the game. And for 23 saves and his first career win (and decision of any kind), Mike Peters (G, So.) was selected as the first star, causing "dancing in the streets of Highland, Maryland" according to the 92.1 WVTK announncer.
After losing yesterday, Middlebury pulls back into a tie with Williams for second place in the NESCAC. The duo are one point ahead of Trinity and two points ahead of Amherst, with both the Bantams and Lord Jeffs having played one less game than the Panthers or Ephs. These travel partners both end the regular season on the road at Amherst/Hamilton.
Player of the game: Mike Peters (G, So.) for causing dancing in the streets of Highland, MD.

Wesleyan University Cardinals (9-8-4; 5-6-4) 3 OT

Bowdoin took a 2-0 lead with a first period goal from Connor Quinn (F, So.) and an early second period goal from Ollie Koo (D/F, Jr.). Keith Buehler (F, Jr.) and Ryan White (F, Sr.) scored goals within a minute of each other in the second to pull Wesleyan even after two.
The Cardinals took the lead just 33 seconds into the third on a John Guay (F, Sr.) goal, but Robert Tocyzlowski (F, Sr.) tied it less than two minutes later for the Polar Bears. Neither team was able to light the lamp in the final 23 minutes of regulation and overtime.
Both teams have three games remaining. Bowdoin has the makeup with Trinity (TBD) and hosts Tufts/Conn College. Wesleyan has a makeup with Colby (TBD) and has a home and home with Trinity. Bowdoin is just two points ahead of Middlebury/Williams, but has played one less game than the duo and the Polar Bears face the seventh and ninth place teams to end the season. Wesleyan seems pretty locked in at number six, due to the fact that they are six points behind the Bantams and five points in front of the Camels with just one week of regular season play left.
Player of the game: John Guay (F, Sr.) had his fifth multi-point game of the season (1-1-2) and his goal gave the Cardinals their only lead of the game early in the third.

Tufts University Jumbos (7-12-2; 2-11-2) 6

The Jumbos played this "home" game at Conn College's Dayton Arena thanks to winter storm Nemo. Tufts went up 3-0 after one on goals by White, Tyler Voigt (F, So.) and Tim Mitropoulous (F, Jr.). It was Mitropoulous' first conference goal in his third season. After a scoreless second, the two teams combined for seven goals in the third. Hamilton came back to tie it 3-3 on goals from Dom Jancaterino (F/D, Jr.), player to watch Kenny Matheson (F, Fr.) and Matt Tetro (F, Fr.). Anthony Ruberto (F, Sr.) assisted on the Jancaterino goal for his team leading 14th point (7-7-14) this season and the 50th point of his career. Mattheson, returning for the first time in over two months from a concussion, scored his first collegiate goal and led the Continentals with 2 points (1-1-2).
The Jumbos then struck back with a goal by Kyle Gallegos (F, Jr.) and White's second goal of the evening. Pat Curtis (F, So.) brought Hamilton within one at 5-4 before White's empty netter to finalize the score at 6-4. Hamilton outshot the Jumbos 22-7 in the third and 47-34 for the game. The Continentals ability to draw penalties and then do nothing with the PP was on display today, with the Conts going 1-8 on the PP; Tufts wasn't much better at 1-6.
The win pulls the Jumbos into a tie for ninth with Colby and keeps their playoff hopes alive as they are two points behind Hamilton for the eighth and final playoff spot. Hamilton stays at Dayton Arena for a match-up with Conn College tomorrow afternoon, and Tufts returns to their real home for a game with Amherst tomorrow evening. The Conts finish their season with home games against Middlebury/Williams and Tufts ends the season on the road at Bowdoin/Colby.
