Amherst 3
Hamilton 1
FINAL Box Score Hamilton Recap
1st Period: Pat Curtis back in the lineup for the Continentals for the Cirtus Bowl. Quattrocchi in net for the Conts and Cunningham for the Lord Jeffs, as expected. Hamilton kills off a penalty on defender Tyler Lovejoy, but Lovejoy goes back into the box immediately after coming out on a boarding call and the Lord Jeffs' Mike Rowbotham puts the puck in the net to take the 1-0 lead. Hamilton gets their own chance later on in the period on an Amherst boarding penalty, but nothing is doing on the PP, per the usual. The two Katies are back for their second year in the booth. They are excited, but are having some trouble with the pronunciation of some Lord Jeff names like Deutsch and Rowbotham.
2nd Period: Amherst super sophomore Conor Brown gets his second goal of the season and the Jeffs go up 2-0 just 5 minutes into the second. Hamilton giving significant playing time to newcomers. At one point, all five players on the ice for the Conts were freshman.
3rd Period: With less than two minutes to play, the Continentals go on the power play. They take a timeout and pull Quattrocchi to go with the 6-4 empty net advantage. Marco Brelih feeds Kenny Matheson at the top of the left circle for a one time rip to cut it to 2-1 with 1:03 left. Later, with the normal 5-4 empty net, Conor Brown stole the puck at center ice and put in an easy empty netter - his second in as many nights- to seal the game. Hamilton fans feel the take down was less than legal and respond with some less than savory language.
Shots in favor of Amherst 17-14 for the game, though just one of those came in the the third period.

3rd Period: With 3:50 left in the game, Hawkrigg made a perfectly placed pass across a sliding Tufts defender to defend rookie Ryan Cole, who buried it top shelf to put the Bantams up 4-3 (video embed below). Ben Coulthard made 23 saves in a winning effort, while Kelenberger made 43 saves in a losing cause. Phillips made three saves before coming out.
