With triple digit votes cast, the Bowdoin Polar Bears were the run away winners in the poll: Who has the best nickname in the NESCAC? A bit disappointed in the lack of support for the Tufts Jumbos, considering the great backstory of their nickname. Find the table with the full results below.

New Poll: MVP of NESCAC so far...
With every team in the NESCAC officially past the half way point in conference games played (9), it is a good time to ask: Who has been the MVP of the NESCAC thus far? If you don't like our choices, you can vote for other and email us @ nescachockey@gmail.com with your selection or to tell us why we are horrible people for not including a certain player on the list.

Some things to remember/tips for voting before you vote (or get upset at our list):
1. Record Matters - Fair or not, a team's success always plays into determining MVPs in sports. At least one and at most two players appear from each of the top six teams in the league.
2. Positional Bias - There may be many deserving defensemen, but MVPs go to the stat-heavy positions: forwards and goaltenders (but mostly forwards). Take the NHL, for example; since Bobby Orr earned his third Hart Memorial Trophy in 1973, Chris Pronger (pictured) is the only defenseman to win the award, doing so in 2000 as a member of the St. Louis Blues.
3. Conference Play Matters - Since this is the NESCAC, and everyone in the league plays different (for the most part) non-conference opponents, league stats are weighted heavier than non-conference stats.
Remember to vote for the poll on the right sidebar and have fun!
