Williams "Seamless" Performance

USCHO's weekly NESCAC piece takes a look at the surging Williams Ephs. Coach Bill Kangas, in his 24th season at Williams, praises the tight-knit nature of this Ephs group and says the teams has been "a lot of fun to coach."

Despite injuries that have left their roster only 23 deep and the loss of four key defenseman and their starting goaltender from last season, Kangas' crew is still one of the best defensive teams in the country. Kangas praises the work of his older players for teaching the younger players the system and says that sophomore goalie Sean Dougherty  (G, So.) has really "stepped up his game."

The article also praises the six seniors that "bring depth, experience, and a desire to do whatever it takes on the ice for the team to win. "  Is Kangas worried that this effort might not always show up in the box score? "I don't really look at the stats." He goes on to say that even though players like John Wickman and  Cody Skinner haven't scored yet this season, they are "all about doing the little things to make plays that don’t show up on the score sheet, but certainly help us be successful. "
