The Lowdown: Wait who's ranked?
The Bantams, currently fifth in the NESCAC, enter the game ranked 15th in the nation in the USCHO poll, though they will probably dropout of the rankings after back to back loses to non-conference foes to end 2012. The Ephs, on the other hand, aren't ranked but enter the game second in the NESCAC and on a four game win streak. They also haven't lost a league game since dropping the season opener to Bowdoin in November. Expect a hard fought battle from both teams.
Key(s) to the game: Battle of the Box
Trinity enters the game as the most penalized team in the NESCAC with 20.1 PIM per game while Williams ranks next to last at 9.9 PIM/G. Trinity has been solid on the penalty kill at 86.4% and Williams hasn't exactly been tearing it up on the power play at 22.2%, but one of these days those 20 PIM/G is going to cost the Bantams, and it may just be tonight.
Players to Watch
Williams - Sean Dougherty (G, So.): Dougherty has been nothing short of excellent in his first year as the starting net-minder. The sophomore from Long Island, NY sports a 1.76 GAA, good for second in the league. If he is hot, he could be the difference in the game.
Trinity - Benjamin Coulthard (G, Jr): Not to be outdone, Coulthard has also been solid in net this year, with a 2.11 GAA and 93.9 Save%, both good for third in the NESCAC. Like Dougherty for the Ephs, the Pomfret alum could be the key reason for a Bantam victory.
