USM Huskies (4-5-1) 3

Bowdoin controlled most of the OT outside of the final thirty seconds, outshooting USM 3-1 in the extra frame. Colin Downey (F/D, '14) hit the crossbar on a rebound in front of the net, prompting the USM webcast announcers to inform viewers that there is no instant reply in D-III hockey, not even right before finals period in a non-conference game. Whuddathunk?
With hockey name extrordinaire Pier-Michel Lapoint (D, '16) sitting in the box for a tripping call, Harry Matheson (F, '14) buried a pass from Downey for a Bowdoin PP goal and 1-0 lead at 7:19 of the first. The Huskies countered with their own power play goal from Stephen Gallo (F, '15) before Bowdoin rookie Kendall Culbertson (F, '17) put the Polar Bears back up in front in the final minute of the period on assists from fellow rookies Zach Kokosa (F, '17) and Brendan Conroy (D, '17).
USM would score the next two goals, including an equalizer in the second from Lorne Miller and a go-ahead rebound goal from Zach Dymock (F,'16) at 1:53 of the third. Bowdoin would tie the game at 15:09 on a nice back-hand goal Connor Quinn (F, '15). After receiving a pass from Matt Rubinoff (F, '16), Quinn danced around a bit before whipping around for the top-shelf back hand goal.
Bowdoin is now 15-6-2 all-time against the Huskies and 5-5-1 when games take place at USM. the game also concluded NESCAC puck in 2013. See y'all in 2014.
Player of the game: Stephen Gallo (F, '16) The junior from Barnstead, NH had a goal and an assist for the only multi-point evening of the night (1-1-2). Gallo's only other point of the season in ten game came against Colby. Maybe he should transfer to the 'Cac?
