Amherst travels up to the suburbs of Boston for an afternoon tilt with fellow residnents of the commonwealth, the Jumbos of Tufts University. The Lord Jeffs handled business against Conn College in the nutmeg state last night to break a three game losing streak. Tufts dropped an OT decision to Hamilton to remain tied for last place with Conn College.

The teams last met in February of last year at Malden in a game that Amherst won handily, 6-1. Andrew Kurlandski (F, '14) had two goals in that game, a feat he has not pulled off this season. His five goals this season (5-2-7), however, still have him in a three-way tie for first on the team in what has been an offensively challenging season for the Jeffs. Tufts biggest liablity on the ice has been defensively, as the Tufts gives up 4.29 goals per game in conference affairs. The Jumbos are still looking for their first win at Malden this year as they have started out 0-5.

Colby Mules 8-4-3 (5-3-1 NESCAC) at Trinity Bantams 10-3-0 (5-2-0 NESCAC)

In the marquee conference matchup of the day, the Mules invade Hartford after escaping Middletown with a 5-4 win over Wesleyan last night to move into sole possession of third place for the time being. Trinity handled Bowdoin and ended up in fourth with two less games played in conference than two of the three teams ahead of them (Colby and Amherst).

Trinity dismantled Colby 7-2 the last time the two teams played in February of 2013 in Hartford. Jackson Brewer (F, '15) had his first career hat-trick and added an assist for good measure (3-1-4), while Mike Hawkrigg (F, '16) added three points of his own (2-1-3).  As the record indicates and the large number of freshman seeing playing time confirms, this is not the same Mules team that played against Trinity that Nemo ravaged weekend.

So you got blown out last time you played Amherst? Or the last time you went to Trinity? Time to forget about it and focus on today. Rise Against "Elective Amnesia"
