It was freshman day in Williamstown, as Roberto Celini (F, '19)'s tipped in a Frankie Mork (F, '17) shot and Michael Pinios (G, 19) stopped all 11 shots he saw to help the Ephs sweep opening weekend.  Williams carried the play on the afternoon, outshooting the Mules 31-11. Emerson Verrier (G, '18) was solid in net, making 30 saves but losing his second game of the weekend as his offense failed to put a tally in the net all weekend.

The Panthers jumped out to the early lead on the strength of two Brendan McGovern (F, '16) tallies in the first, but Bowdoin scored one in the second and two in the third to erase a 4-1 Middlebury lead after one period of play. Coach Terry Meagher gave Peter Cronin (G, '18) the boot after the starting netminder gave up four goals on 14 shots and freshman Nathan Colaninno (G, '19) stopped all 21 shots he saw to earn a save in his first collegiate minutes.
