It was a tough year for the Camels, who returned only two blueliners from 2015-16, including Greg Liataud (#4 above) |

The Camels entered the 2015-16 campaign coming off a 2014-15 season which saw Conn College earn both their first home playoff game (3rd seed) and their first trip to NESCAC Championship weekend in school history. The Camels lost top scorer JC Cangelosi and most of their blueline, but returned key offensive pieces and a second team All-NESCAC goalie in Tom Conlin.
A dropoff may have been expected, but Jim Ward's wards completely fell off the table, becoming the first team in conference play (started in 1999) not to win a game in conference. Even a cursory glance at the stats tells the story: the 2015-16 Conn College Camels were a bad hockey team.
High Point
The overall season was an unmitigated disaster, but CC held their own in non-conference play at 3-3-0. They even started 2016 with a mini winning streak with wins on the road over Stonehill and Manhattanville. At that point in the season they were 3-5-1 and still very much in the NESCAC race. The other non-conference win actually came against a 'CAC opponent (winless in conference play but not winless against conference opponents, a distinction a lawyer would love) Thanksgiving weekend when Conn College beat Middlebury 1-0 in the consolation game of the Primelink. The Camels served as the invite team for the Middlebury-Norwich-Plattsburgh tourney, which usually features a team from out West.
Low Point
The whole season was a low point, but the nadir probably came when they were eliminated from playoff contention with a full two weekends left to play. The Camels seemingly gave up, losing to Tufts 8-1 to be officially eliminated and then following it up with a 9-2 drubbing at the hands of Hamilton. After a 4-1 loss at Amherst, Conn College showed a bit of heart, however, on senior weekend. The Camels earned a 3-3 tie against Colby and then lost by only one to Bowdoin before the season mercifully ended.
MVP
Tim DiPretoro ('16) - In a season of low-lights, Tim DiPretoro stood out as the lone bright spot for Conn College. The senior captain led the team in goals (14) and points (24) to earn a spot on the First Team All-NESCAC, the first Conn College forward to earn such an honor. The Northfield Mount Hermon followed up his collegiate career with a short ATO stint during spring break for the Brampton Beast of the ECHL, posting a point (0-1-1) in four games with the Canadians affiliate.
