The Lowdown: The next day
Both these teams escaped with wins last night. First place Bowdoin visited second place Williams and came away with a tough 4-1 win. Goaltender Steve Messina (G, Jr.) turned away 35 shots for the Polar Bears. Expect Messina to sit today against Middlebury as Coach Meagher has kept to a strict rotation this season. Sophomore Max Fenkell (G, So.) will be between the pipes this afternoon in Vermont.
Middlebury scraped by visiting Colby last night. With the Mules in last place it was a great chance for the Panthers to ends a disappointing 1-6 run. They did it, but just barely. Colby took a 2-0 lead into the locker room after one period, but Middlebury came back with 3 unanswered. The final score was 5-3, with Middlebury's final goal an empty-netter.

Key(s) to the game: Stay hungry and focused
Bowdoin needs to stay focused and avoid playing as if the hard work on this trip is over. These two teams played to a 4-4 draw in November. Middlebury came back after being down 4-2 to start the third, but a lot of hockey has been played in the last two months. It may seem like Bowdoin is on the rise while Middlebury heads the other direction, but the Panthers recent schedule--save Colby--has been tougher.
Players to watch
Bowdoin -Tim Coffey (F, So.) should be feeling good. He's seen action in just six games this year but has scored in each of the last two, including the game winner last night.
Middlebury - Liam Moorfield-Yee (G, Jr.) It is crucial that Middlebury gets good goal tending against Bowdoin's high octane offense; especially considering the Panthers recent struggles scoring only 12 goals in January, and five came last night against Colby.
In honor of both these predator animals looking to stay hungry and focused on the prowl, we present the Talking Heads "Stay Hungry"
