The Lowdown: Frustration
Both teams come into this game off tough Friday night loses. The Jeffs dropped an evenly fought match with league leading Bowdoin and Colby lost by three goals to Hamilton in a game in which they out-shot the Continentals. Look for two hungry, frustrated hockey teams.
Key(s) to the Game: Put them away early
With a heavy talent and stat advantage in their favor, Amherst should take care of business. An early lead would be especially effective against a Colby team that has problems putting the puck in late. On the season, Colby has a +/- of -3 for the first period, a +1 for the second and then a precipitous drop to -7 in the third. If the Lord Jeffs get out in front, they should stay in front.
Players to Watch
Colby - Nick Lanza (F, Jr.) Lanza had two more points last night against Hamilton, but still hasn't scored in a month. If the Mules want to pull off the upset, he'll probably have to get going.
Amherst - Johnny Van Siclen (F, Sr.) Besides having an awesome name, Van Siclen added another goal (8-3-11) to his point total and now has double the number of goals as his next closest teammates.
