FINAL: Potsdam 2/ Hamilton 3 OT

SUNY Potsdam Bears (6-11-1)                    2
Hamilton College Continentals  (5-8-3)    3     OT

It was over when...: Evan Haney (F, Jr. ) stuffed in a rebound 1:20 into OT for his second goal of the game and a  3-2 win for the Continentals. Out of spite for our key to the game, Potsdam and Hamilton ended regulation tied 2-2 for the sixth overtime game for both teams.

The Continentals kicked off the scoring with Haney's first goal, 9:21 into the second.  Six minutes later, Hamilton went up 2-0 on a short handed goal by Pat Curtis (F, So.). Potsdam struck back with a power play goal with ten seconds left in the second by Billy Pascalli (F, Fr.) and another power play goal 1:15 into the third by player to watch Adam Place (F, Jr.).

Shots in favor of Hamilton 40-32. Potsdam was heavily penalized with 31 PM on 10 penalties, but coach Haberbusch's squad continued their anemic power play output, going 0-9.

After a haitus last weekend, student announcers Sarah and Katie were back on the air for today's game. Topics covered included the rash of injuries to Hamilton players (including to 2011-2012 leading scorer Mike Dimare), the arrival of the student body on campus, giving props to volunteer assistant coach "Cheech" (Michael Chiellino) and NFC Championship game updates.

Player of the game: Evan Haney (F, Jr.) for his two goal effort, including the winning goal that mercifully allowed football fans to go home and watch the AFC Championship game.

Box Score: Potsdam 2/ Hamilton 3 OT
