The Lowdown: There's no place like home
Continentals assistant coach Daniel Jewell returns to Cortland just two years removed from playing for the Red Dragons in his 2010-2011 senior season. His alma mater enters the game coming off a tough 3-2 overtime loss to Manhattanville. His current players travel slightly downstate (but still far upstate) having beaten Tufts 3-1 at home. Both teams look for a win before facing national powerhouse Oswego this weekend.
Key(s) to the game: Effort
In a non-conference game like this, players might not have the same level of effort and focus as for a conference game; especially when you are playing Oswego this weekend (and even more so for Cortland since Oswego is a conference game). The Continentals and Red Dragons need to show up prepped and motivated, because a W in collegiate hockey is nothing to sneeze at.
Players to watch
Hamilton - Anthony Ruberto (F, Sr.) In three career games against Cortland, Ruberto has one assist (0-1-1). Can the Continentals assistant captain score in his last chance against the Red Dragons?
Cortland - Michael Lysyj (F, Sr.) The Red Dragons leading scorer (14-9-23) comes in with a seven-game points streak and having just been named the SUNY-AC player of the week.
