The Lowdown: Home sweet home
Tufts returns home for the first time since January 5th, ending their road trip with a strong 2-2 tie against Wesleyan last Saturday. The Jumbos must be happy to be on the homestead, as they are 3-2-1 at home and only 1-5-1. on the road. They enter the game in 9th place, on the outside looking in of the NESCAC playoff race.
Williams travels across the commonwealth in second place, just two points ahead of Amherst and Trinity and three points ahead of Middblebury. The Ephs hope to improve on their 2-2-0 road record this season.
The teams first met in Williamstown on November 30th with Williams taking the game 5-3 after trailing 2-1 early in the second.
Key(s) to the game: Excecute
We saw what Williams can do to teams towards the bottom of the 'CAC with their 9-2 dismantling of Colby (though that was the dreaded 3 P.M. Saturday game for the traveling Mules) last week. They need to stick to coach Kangas' game plan, stay focused and execute.
Players to watch
John Wickman (F, Sr.) The senior from Texas got his only two points of his freshman campaign against the Jumbos back in 09 and had three assists against them in the November 30th game. How will he do in his final regular season outing against Tufts?
Kyle Gallegos (F, Jr.) In four career games against Williams, the Jumbos leading scorer (8-7-15) has 5 points (2-3-5). How will he do tonight?
Williams is really shipping across- not up - state, and the Jumbos rink is actually just outside the city. Nonetheless, we present the Dropkick Murphy's "Shipping Up to Boston" for this Massachusetts match-up.
