The Lowdown: The homestretch
With just four games to go in the NESCAC regular season, every game is big. Amherst fell to fifth place last week-despite not losing-after a big win against Bowdoin and a disappointing tie at Colby. Conn. College swept the home and home with Tufts last week to move from out of the playoffs to seventh place. The last time these two met at Amherst in January, the game ended up knotted in a 2-2 tie.
Key(s) to the game: Energizer bunnies
Conn College rejuvenated their season with the high energy they brought against the Jumbos. In order to get this upset, they will need to keep that energy high, win the battles in front of the net and capitalize on the potentially limited opportunities they will see against the best defense in the NESCAC. For Amherst, they need to keep their energy high as well and avoid a let down after a disappointing tie against Colby, a game in which they had a 3-0 lead in the third period.
Players to watch
Conor Brown (F, Fr.) had two goals in each game last week, for a total of four for the weekend (4-0-4). Brown's points streak now sits at nine games. This is his first career game against the Camels, as he did not play in the previous matchup.
JC Cangelosi (F, So.) had five points on the weekend (2-3-5) against the Jumbos, including the game winner in the third period on Saturday night. The sophomore from Estero, Florida is pointless in three career games against the Lord Jeffs.
In honor of the high intensity needed to win this game, we present a live version of Blur's "Song 2" (more popularlly known as the Woo-hoo song).
