Live Scoreboard: 2/10/13

Colby 2
Trinity 7  FINAL  Live Stats Box Score Trinity Recap 

1st Period: Jackson Brewer (F, So.) scores at 7:45 to put the Bantams up 1-0. Shots on goal even at 12 for the period.  Jordan Nathan (G, So.)  in net for Colby. Benjamin Coulthard(G, Jr.)  for Trinity.

2nd Period: Michael DiCenso (D, Sr.) scores on what the Trinity announcer called a "seeing eye wrister that found its way" and John Hawkrigg (F, Fr.) scores a power play goal to make it 3-0. The Mules Cory McGrath (F, Sr.) scores within 15 seconds of the Hawrigg power play goal to make it 3-1. Will Gray (F, Jr.) scored short handed goal for Trinity to make it 4-1.

3rd period: goal by Brewer 42 seconds into the third to make it 5-1. Jack Bartlett (F, Jr.) scores about ten minutes into the period to make it 5-2. Brewer gets the hat-trick to make it 6-2. Hawkrigg gets his second goal of the afternoon to make it 7-2. Shots in favor of Trinity 44-34.

With a Middlebury win, Trinity remains in fourth place in the NESCAC. But with the Trinity/Bowdoin game still to be made-up, Trinity is only one point behind and has played one less game than the Panthers or Ephs.

Conn College   2  FINAL Box Score
1st period: Amherst goes up 1-0 on Jamie Hawrigg (D, Sr.)goal. Tom Conlin (G, Fr.) in net for Conn College and Nathan Corey (G, Sr.) for Amherst. Conn College wearing their "Green Dot" jerseys.

2nd PeriodBrian Safstrom  (F, Jr.)  pumps in a rebound to put the Lord Jeffs up 2-0. Lord Jeffs score again to make it 3-0 on a goal by Johnny Van Siclen (F, Sr.). With six minutes remaining in the period, Sean Murray (F, Sr.) tipped in a slap shot blast from Mike Doyle (D, So.) to put the Camels on the board. Mike Rowbotham (F, So.) goes top shelf, where "Mamma keeps the cookies" according to the Camel announcer, to put the Lord Jeffs up 4-1 just a few minutes later.

3rd period: Tim Dipretoro (F, Fr.) skates in for a backdoor goal on nice passes from JC Cangelosi (F, So.)and Keith Veronessi (F, Jr.) to make it 4-2 with about five to play. Camel announcers says it was the "nicest goal of the year" for Conn. College.

With Trinity and Middlebury wins, Amherst remains in fifth in the NESCAC.


Williams         1
Middlebury    3      FINAL  Box Score Williams Recap

1st period: Senior Day for the Panthers. Middlebury owns 75-37-9 all time series lead against Williams. Mike Peters (G, So.) in net for the Panthers. Sean Doughtery (G, So.) for the Ephs. Ephs leading scorer Peter Mistretta (F, So.) back after missing yesterdays game. 

Matt Silcoff (F, So.) puts in a rebound off of a Matthieu Castonguay (D, Sr.) shot for his 9th onf teh year to put the Pabnthers up 1-0 with 9:22 to go in the first. End of the first, shots in favorite of Middlebury 9-8.

2nd Period: Riley Dickie (F, Fr.) puts the Panthers up 2-0 1:04 into the second period on assists from Belisle and Wiggins. Cody Skinner (F, Sr.) scores on a 3-2 break to bring the Ephs within 2-1 at 9:30 into the second. Fourth goal of the year for Skinner. Shots in favor of the Panthers 19-16. Williams will begin the third on the PP.

3rd Period: Ben Wiggins (D, Jr.) kisses it off the far post to put the Panthers up 3-1 shortly after the end of the Ephs power play; assists from Mcgovern and Dickie. Dougherty pulled with about two minutes to go. Nick Anderson (F, Jr) had a good scoring opportunity, but Peters made a great right pad save. 6 shots each for the Ephs and Panthers in the third.

After losing yesterday, Middlebury pulls back into a tie with Williams for second place in the NESCAC.  3 stars of the game from the Media Box at Kenyon Arena :  third star Ben Wiggins (D, Jr.) (1-1-2) gave the Panthers an isusrance goal; second star Riley Dickie (F, Fr.) (1-1-2) got what turned out to be the game. And for 23 saves and his first career win (and decision of any kind), Mike Peters (G, So.) was selected as the first star, causing "dancing in the streets of Highland, Maryland" according to the 92.1 WVTK announncer.
