Non-Conference Roundup 12/3/13: Manhattanville 6 Conn College 0

Conn College Camels (0-7-0)          0
Manhattanville Valiants (6-4-0)     6

It was over when...: Manhattanvile scored three first period goals en route to a six goal rout. The Valiants took the foot off the pedal in the third and the Camels held the shot advantage 14-7 in the final frame. Manhattanville outshot the Camels 34-26 for the game and went 3/5 on the power play to the Camels 0/4. Senior Mike Petchonka (G, '14) took the loss, giving up four goals on 23 shots in 38 minutes of play. Tom Conlin (G, '16) relieved him for the final 28 minutes and gave up one goal on eleven shots.

Conn College remains the only winless team in the NESCAC, though they are tied for last in the more important conference standings with Tufts, whose only win has come out-of-conference.  The Camels have now been shutout for seven straight periods (all non-conference) and have given up 5+ goals in all but one game this season.

Manhattanville will face a bit stiffer NESCAC competition on Saturday against Trinity. Conn College travels north and returns to NESCAC play at Bowdoin and Colby to closeout their 2013 schedule.

Player of the game: Alex Scola (G, '15) The junior netminder from Exter, NH shutout Tufts with 26 saves on Sunday in the Rutland Herald Invitational finals and then followed it up by blanking Conn College on 26 shots as well.

Box Score:  Conn College 0/Manhattanville 6
