The Lowdown: Searching for a W
The New Londoners take the 1:30 minute drive down I-95 to Stamford in search of their first victory of the season against host Manhattanville of the ECAC-West. The Purchase, NY based Valiants normally play home games at the former practice home of the New York Rangers, the Rye Playland Ice Casino, but the rink has been closed since late 2012 due to damage from Superstorm Sandy. As a result, Manhattanville has crossed the nearby NY/CT border and called Terry Conners Rink in Stamford, CT, home for the past two seasons.

Both schools played two games over the Thanksgiving weekend. The Valiants won the Rutland Herald Invitational Tournament in Vermont by dismantling Brockport,7-3, and shutting out surprise fellow finalist Tufts, 3-0. The Jumbos defeated the host Castelton Spartans in the opening round for their first win of the season. Conn College played two OOC games, losing at home to nationally ranked Utica, 5-1, and dropping their second OT Game of the season, 1-0, at Salem State. The Valiants lost to Utica, 2-1, at Terry Conners earlier this season.

The Camels and Valiants last met almost a year ago to the day with Manhattanvile taking the December 4,2012 contest in Stamford, 5-3. Current Camels leading scorer JC Cangelosi (F, '15) and senior forward Keith Veronesi (F, '14) scored in the out-of-conference affair.

Players to watch (if you want to shell out the cash for the webcast)
Keith Veronesi (F, '14) Last season the South Glastonbury, CT native was second on the Camels with 19 points (9-10-19). He's off to a slow start this season with only one assist and no goals (0-1-1) in six games.

Luc Van Natter (F, '14) The Valiants second leading scorer this season (3-7-10) had three points (1-2-3) the last time these two met.

We hope the damage done by Sandy to the Ice Casino gets repaired soon and we hope the Camels have not become comfortably numb with losing. Here's Roger Waters with special guest Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam performing Pink Floyd's 1980 hit, "Comfortably Numb", at  "12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief" just eight days after the Camels and Valients faced one another.
