Colby opened their out-of-conference schedule in the familiar confines of Sidney Watson Arena in the opening day of the Colby/Bowdoin Faceoff Classic. Jordan Nathan (G, '15) made 32 saves for a win in his first start of the year and Devin Albert (F ,'17) scored two goals in the third to break open a 3-3 tie. Senior captain Ray Zeek (F, '15) scored a goal in his first game back since being injured in the season opener against Williams.

Stephen Klein (G, '18) made 35 saves to take the loss in his first collegiate start. On the other side, the #3 ranked Cardinals' Spencer Finney (G, '16) - D-I Colgate's starting netminder in 2012-13 before transferring to D-III last winter break - made 24 saves to improve to 5-0-0 on the season.
In the championship game, the Cobbers of Concordia (Minnesota) shocked #2 ranked Norwich in a shootout to become the first non core-three team (Middlebury, Plattsburgh, Norwich) to win the Primelink. The Cobbers defeated Middlebury 4-3 in the opening round.

Bowdoin scored six special teams goals (3 on the pp, 2 short handed) in the first two periods to roll to an easy victory on the opening day of the Colby/Bowdoin Faceoff Classic. Peter Cronin (G, '18) made 29 saves to improve to 2-0-1 on the season. The Polar Bears spread the love around with six different players netting a tally on the day. Colby and Bowdoin swap opponents at Colby on Sunday with Bowdoin playing Salve Regina and Colby taking on Wenworth.

Anthony Sabitsky (F, '18), Tyler Whitney (F, '18) and Conor Coveney (F, '15) each had two apiece as the Bantams peppered the Crossairs goaltenders with 70 shots en route to a blowout opening to their OOC schedule. Alex Morin (G, '18) made 21 saves for the victory in his collegiate debut. 13 different Bantams have already scored this season and they have scored 7+ goals in four of their first five games. They'll face much stiffer competition when they take on nationally ranked UMASS-Boston on Sunday.
Rookie Brad Buvinow had a goal and two assists in his debut while Conor Coveney and The Tyler Whitney both had two goals and three points.

Freshman ruled the day as CJ Shugart (F, '18) scored two goals and David Italiano (F, '18) scored the game winner as Williams overcame a 3-1 deficit to advance to the finals of the Skidmore Tournament. Sean Dougherty (G, '15) made 23 saves to improve to 4-0-1 on the year. The Ephs take on Morrisville in the finals on Sunday.
