Thanks to Benet Pols for the Williams/Bowdoin recap.
It was over when...: Bowdoin scored on a quick three-on-one break 16 seconds into the third period after capitalizing on some sloppy blue line play by Williams. The Polar Bears 4-1 lead came off Harry Mattheson(F, Jr.)'s marker after some fine passing.
The Ephs had the best of play in the scoreless first period testing Steve Messina (G, Jr.) several times. Both teams failed to take advantage of 5-3 power plays.
Bowdoin tallied first in the second period when John McGinnis (F, So.) placed a deft backhand shot up top after lulling Williams to sleep. Williams was back in it quickly after taking advantage of a Bowdoin miscue at center ice with Ephs leading scorer Peter Mistretta (F, So.) converting a pretty 3 on 1 break on a pass from Evan Dugdale (F, Sr.). The tie was short lived though as an own goal caromed off the chest of a Williams defender. The Ephs, deflated the remainder of the period, let Bowdoin press its advantage. The Polar Bears went up 3-1 on a methodical play when Rob Toczylowski (F, Sr.) drew the defense and put the puck across the front of the net to a wide open Ollie Koo (D/F, Jr.). Koo now leads Bowdoin with 11 goals.
Williams outshot Bowdoin 36-26 and both teams went 0-4 on the power play. Sean Dougherty (G, So.) let up more than three goals for only the second time this year and for the second game in a row(he didn't play against Babson).

Player of the game: Steven Messina (G, Jr.) for his 35 saves and holding Williams scoreless in a tough first period. He also came up big several times in the middle of the third as Williams put together a nice little stretch before running out of time and gas.
