In this week's D3Hockey computer rankings , Utica remains in the top spot and the top five has shuffled but the teams remain the same. The intro to the rankings examines where the top 17 teams come from, with the NESCAC and ECAC East both accounting for four teams to lead the pack and NCHA and ECAC West contributing three teams each. Four NESCAC schools in the top 17 doesn't surprise D3hockey, but the fact that one of those teams isn't Middlebury does. Despite their move up to second in the NESCAC standings, the Panthers only moved up to 21st according to the computers. Their tough non-conference schedule has something to do with that, landing them close to .500 at 10-8-2 overall.
Bowdoin's loss to Amherst only dropped them one spot, while Amherst only moved up three spots after said win because of the tie with Colby. The Mules remain the lowest ranked among NESCAC teams, but moved up three spots after their undefeated week (1-0-2), which included a win over a reeling Hamilton team that dropped five spots this week, the most of any other team in the conference.
Tufts fell four spots after being swept by Conn. College, who moved up two spots. After three straight weeks in the tenth spot, Williams falls to number thirteen after losing to Trinity and tying Wesleyan . The Bantams split earned them a one spot bump and the Cardinals (0-1-1) weekend saw them drop only one spot.
