Conn College releases 2013-14 roster

JC Caneglosi ('15)
The Connecticut College Camels have released their 2013-14 roster.  Their 30 man roster (last year had 31) is comprised of 23 veterans and 7 freshman. The Camels only graduated two players, the lowest graduation attrition in the 'Cac. Six veterans did not return to the roster: Brett Curran (D, '16), Connor Doyle (F, '16), Gordon Donnelly (G. '17),  J.R. LaPointe (F, '16), Dan Meiselman (F, '15) (focusing on his rap career?) and Scott Woods (F, '17). None played a major role for the Camels last season, with Curran playing the most games (12) and having the most points (2) of the group.

Conn College missed the NESCAC playoffs last year with a ninth place finish thanks in large part to their conference worst 2.11 goals per game in NESCAC contests. No one had double digit goals and only five players had double digit points. Leading point-scorer (5-15-20) JC Cangelosi (F, '15) and leading goal scorer (9-10-19) Keith Veronesi (F, '14) return, as well as sophomore Tim Depretoro (F, '16), who tied Veronesi for the team lead in goals. Veronesi will captain the team with fellow senior forward Mike Sinsigalli (F, '14), who had 13 points last year.

If not from the veterans, then the Camels will look to recruits for some added offensive firepower. The  seven man class includes some potential goal scorers such as  Brian Belisle (F, '17) of the legendary Mount Saint Charles in Rhode Island and Cantebury leading scorer Jeff Celniker (F, '17).

In back, Conn College graduated their most reliable blue-liner in Dawson Luke (D, '13), but return eight defenseman that saw playing time last year. Cantebury recruit and moose enthusiast  and Greg Liautaud (D, '17) should see playing time for the Camels.

In net, sophomore  Tom Conlin (G, '16) split time last season with Mike Petchonka (G, '14) and earned the bulk of the goaltending minutes towards the end of the season. In 13 appearances, Conlin led the team in wins (5-6-0), save percentage (.917) and Goals Against Average (2.65). Flower Round, Texas native Marcus Calvanico (G, '14) and prep product Austin Essery (G, '17) round out the goalie quartet.
